Cutting Machine Method Comparison
Plasma
Cutting quality: excellent inclination, small heat affected area, almost no slag, good to excellent fine cutting effect;
Productivity: extremely fast speed when cutting metal materials of various thicknesses, extremely fast perforation speed;
Operating cost: long life of consumables, good production efficiency, excellent cutting quality, resulting in lower cost per operation than other technologies;
Maintenance method: many components can usually be properly maintained by the factory maintenance team. [2]
Laser
Cutting quality: excellent inclination, small heat affected area, almost no slag, good to excellent fine cutting effect can be achieved under the narrowest bend conditions;
Productivity: the cutting torch can be disengaged quickly, which improves production efficiency, and extremely fast speed when cutting metal materials with a thickness of less than 6mm. The thicker the metal, the slower the speed, and the thicker the metal, the longer the perforation time. Generally, laser cutting is only used for high-precision non-metallic metal cutting;
Operating cost: high cost per operation due to the consumption of electricity and gas, high maintenance costs and relatively low cutting speed when cutting thicker materials;
Maintenance method: professional technicians are required to complete complex maintenance work!
