What is Paper Sheeting Machine?

Paper sheeting machine is one necessary equipment for converting paper roll into sheet forms. Usually there is three kinds of sheeting methods. First one is scissors type , which the cutter knife is up and down to cut. Second type is rotary knife but the down knife is fixed, the up knife is rotary working. The third type is also rotary knife sheeting, but the down knife is also rotation.
Some factory will re-cut again after finish the sheeting, then go to offset printer. The third type is both rotation for up and down knife, it is good for thick paper board sheet cutting, the finish paper pile can go direct for offset printing press, the cutting edge is smooth and no dust left, it is an ideal equipment for cardboard sheet cutting.

Working Principle Paper Sheeting Machine

The paper slitting machine consists of a frame, a transmission system, a material reeling and unreeling machine and a tension control device, a traction component, a slitting bracket, a waste material reeling and discharge device, etc. It slits the raw materials into several independent units. Its working principle is to fix the raw materials on the unreeling. One end of the unreeling shaft is equipped with a magnetic powder tension controller to keep the required tension of the raw materials constant. Then the raw materials are pulled through a pair of rubber rollers and cut into several strips by the blade. Then, they are guided to the A and B reeling shafts through each guide roller to reel the finished product. Its transmission is driven by the main motor to drive the traction rubber roller and the reeling shaft to run synchronously to achieve the purpose of pulling the material and receiving the finished product.

Paper Slitting Machine Slitting Method

Paper slitting machine can generally be divided into three stages according to the operation process. First, the rolled paper must be unrolled so that a single layer can pass through the slitting and rewinding equipment. As it passes through the machine, it is cut into strips of the required width by one of a number of different cutting methods. Once the material is slit to the size required by the market, it can be rewound into a saleable paper roll. A variety of blade styles ensure that each paper is cut in the cleanest, most economical and efficient way, greatly reducing production costs and time. The actual cutting of the paper can be done in a number of different ways, mainly depending on the nature of the material being cut. The oldest form of cutting is called press cutting, which cuts the material between a relatively blunt blade and a hard roller surface.

This method is helpful for cutting dry adhesive products that are sticky on one side, such as various forms of paper tape. Although this method is quick and easy to set up, it can cause problems with excessive dust when used with paper. The second simplest cutting method is blade cutting. This is also the most economical method. It uses a positioning blade that is usually suspended above the paper feed area. As the paper passes through a series of rollers, the blade extends down into a space or groove on one of the rollers. This method cannot be used to cut heavy, thick or rigid paper materials. In addition, during high-speed slitting, the friction between the blade and the paper will heat the blade, shorten its service life, and require more frequent blade changes. Shear slitting is the most accurate longitudinal slitting method of the slitting machine and can be used for heavier, thicker and harder paper materials. The main feature of shear slitting is the use of two upper and lower blades, which are usually rotating.

Components of Paper Sheeting Machine

1

Frame and transmission system: The frame consists of left and right wall panels, support blocks and unloading machinery. The transmission system is mainly used to pull raw materials and reel in finished products. It is powered by a variable frequency stepless speed regulating motor through the motor V-belt to make the traction rubber roller run. The main traction rubber roller and the driven traction rubber roller are in close contact and run synchronously to pull the raw materials. The active traction roller drives the lower circular knife shaft to run synchronously to achieve better slitting requirements. The lower circular knife shaft drives reel A and reel B to run synchronously, thereby achieving the purpose of reeling.

2

Reeling mechanism and its tension device: The reeling mechanism mainly consists of chains, synchronous wheels, magnetic powder clutches, and pneumatic shafts. A single motor controls the operation of two reeling shafts. As long as the current of the magnetic powder clutch is adjusted, the tension of the reeling shaft can be changed.

3

Traction components: The traction components mainly consist of a pair of traction rubber rollers and several hard-oxidized aluminum rollers, which play the role of pulling the raw materials for reeling in finished products. Its power comes from the motor transmitted to the active traction rubber roller through the V-belt to make it run.

4

Slitting knife holder: The slitting knife holder has round knife slitting and straight knife slitting. The operating handle can make the round knife move slightly axially through the flat cam to adjust the shear gap between the round knife edge and the groove of the gasket.

5

Waste winding and discharge: The waste is discharged through the air duct using the wind of the blower.

6

Discharging mechanism and automatic deviation correction: The discharging mechanism mainly consists of a discharging shaft, a support block, a cylinder, a base, a left and right moving seat, etc. The automatic deviation correction device consists of a photoelectric start, a deviation correction guide roller, a left and right bracket, a deviation correction moving plate, a ball nut and a screw, a synchronous motor and left and right limit switches.

Process of Paper Sheeting Machine

The ingredients used to make a specific type of paper are combined, mixed and slurried to form a viscous liquid called slurry. The composition and weight of the paper produced depends on the amount and type of ingredients used to make the slurry, and this leads to various types of paper, including notebook paper, building paper, paper towels, etc. This slurry is poured onto a mesh conveyor, sometimes called a screen, which is usually conveyed through a four-stage process.

The first is the forming stage, whose main purpose is to drain the excess water from the pulp while processing the solid materials of the mixture into a continuous layer. This can be achieved through the use of gravity, vibration, vacuum and tension. Once most of the water in the slurry is drained, the board is taken to the pressing stage, which utilizes a series of rotating rollers, using pressure and felt to squeeze out the remaining water and remove it through absorption. Once the board has been formed and pressed, the liquid is removed and the wet remaining material is dried through a series of steam-heated machines in the drying stage to completely dry the paper board. The resulting paper material at this point still requires extensive surface treatment to achieve the desired appearance, feel and performance.

It first goes through a process called sizing, which determines the water resistance of the paper and reduces the possibility of fuzzing by adding different glues and resins. Subsequently, the large paper goes through a process called calendering, which is equivalent to secondary calendering, but this time the ultimate goal is to improve smoothness, gloss and uniformity. At this stage, the continuous finished paper is wound onto large metal shafts and formed into finished paper rolls. You may have noticed that there is no mention of paper slitting machines at any time in the above process. This is because paper slitting machines are usually used after the above processes are completed. Once the paper has been manufactured and formed into a paper roll at the exit end of the finishing process, it can be unwound, fed into a slitting machine rewinder, cut into narrow strips of paper of any desired width, and then rewound onto multiple smaller winding shafts on the other side. This is the process and position of the Lipu paper slitting machine in production.

Maintenance and precautions of paper slitting machine

What matters need to be paid attention to in the daily maintenance and care of the paper sheeting machine:

1. Before use, the main components of the paper sheeting machine should be checked and lubricated;

2. When checking and disassembling the fully automatic paper sheeting machine, it is strictly forbidden to use inappropriate tools and unscientific operating methods;

3. Clean and inspect the machine once every two weeks;

4. If the paper sheeting machine is not used for a long time, all bright surfaces must be wiped clean, coated with anti-rust oil, and covered with a plastic cover to cover the entire machine. If the fully automatic paper sheeting machine is out of use for more than 3 months, moisture-proof paper should be covered on the anti-rust oil;

5. After the work is completed, clean the equipment carefully, wipe the exposed friction surface clean, and add lubricating oil.

6. Clean and inspect the electrical parts regularly to eliminate hidden dangers in time.

7. The use of the paper sheeting machine is completed by the longitudinal cutting machine and the cross-cutting machine, so high-quality longitudinal cutting knives and cross-cutting knives should be used.

8. The daily maintenance of the paper sheeting machine should be in place, and the principle is to lubricate, clean and clear (dust-free and free of debris) to ensure that the sliding parts of the equipment are in good condition.

9. During maintenance work, regular and irregular inspections should be carried out on the rotating parts (especially real-time monitoring of wearing parts). Regular adjustments and regular replacements should be carried out, and detailed records should be kept to achieve the purpose of extending the service life of the equipment.
