How To Realize Cutting Both A4 Sizes And Letter Sizes(8.5 X 14 Inches) With One Single Machine?

Producing both A4 (210×297mm) and letter sizes(8.5 x 14 inches) paper on one machine requires a series of adjustments, detailed below by the numbered positions shown in the diagram (taking the case of cutting 5 rolls with A4-5,5 layout as an example):

1. Adjustment of Unwinder & Paper Loading Section

The parent roll width for A4 production is 1055mm, while that for US standard size is 1085mm. Accordingly, the machine shall be set for letter size production, and the position of the parent roll needs slight shifting during paper loading.

2. Adjustment of Lower Slitting Knives

Manually adjust the spacing of upper slitting knives according to target finished paper dimensions.

3. Adjustment of Conveying Section

Reposition the conveying belts, paper pressing belts and tail pressing rollers based on the production size, to ensure stable paper transportation without wrinkling or edge lifting.

4. Addition of Dual DC Motors

The cross-cutting unit consists of two cutter roller shafts, with two cross-cut blades fitted on both upper and lower shafts. When slitting a single standard paper size, the shaft diameter and blade pitch of the cross-cut head are fixed to match that size. To process two different sizes, two extra DC motors must be installed for dimension switching.Note that a primary production speed and a secondary production speed are assigned. Customers shall define primary and secondary sizes based on actual output capacity requirements.

5. Modification of Paper Stacking Section

Two paper picking modes are available for the stacking unit: gripper type and fork type. The fork type is more suitable for simultaneous production of A4 and US standard sizes. Equipped with stacking chutes and baffles, it delivers neater paper stacks.

6. Manually adjust conveying belts and matching guide plate clearances according to output paper size.

7. Manually reposition inner support plates, fork plates and pressing plates of the wrapping machine to fit wrapping dimensions.

8. Manually adjust wrapping paper loading, feeding and glue spraying positions.

9. Manually reposition guide plates for ream conveying to modify stack dimensions for smooth feeding into the carton packing machine.

10. Manually shift and adjust the base carton & lid support plates, clamping plates, pressing plates and glue spraying positions inside the carton packing machine to match carton dimensions.
