According to customs statistics, in the first three quarters of 2024, my country's household paper products continued to show a trade surplus, and export volume increased significantly.
1. Export volume increased by 23.36% in the first three quarters
In the first three quarters of 2024, my country's household paper export volume increased significantly by 23.36%, reaching 992,000 tons, and the export value was US$1.788 billion, a year-on-year increase of 1.50%. The exported household paper is still mainly finished paper (toilet paper, handkerchief paper, facial tissue, napkins, etc.), and the export volume of finished paper accounts for 69.7% of the total export volume of household paper products. The average export price of household paper fell by 17.72% year-on-year, and exports showed a trend of increasing volume and decreasing price.

In terms of imports, in the first three quarters of 2024, my country's household paper imports were approximately 26,300 tons, a slight increase from the same period last year. The imported household paper was mainly raw paper, accounting for 87.6%. At present, my country's household paper market is generally export-oriented. The output and product types of domestically produced household paper can already meet the local market demand. The import volume and amount are relatively small, so the impact on the domestic market is minimal.
2. The consumption structure of household paper is continuously optimized
In recent years, the consumption structure of household paper in China has been continuously optimized, with an average weight of about 12 grams. Among them, toilet paper accounts for a higher proportion, accounting for 51.03%, facial tissue accounts for 32.6%, and hand towels account for 5.24%. , Handkerchiefs accounted for 4.59%, and napkins accounted for 3.85%. This shows that in the consumption of household paper, toilet paper is still the main category,but the consumption of facial tissue also continues to grow,especially in the home care category,the growth rate of facial tissue is 16.9%,showing that consumption Investors are concerned about improving the quality of life and paying attention to health and hygiene.
